Role Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer plays a lead role in designing, building, optimizing, and governing data pipelines and architectures that power analytics, visualization, and data science initiatives across ALJ Motors. This position provides technical leadership, ensures data quality and scalability, and mentors data engineers to deliver robust and future-proof data solutions that align with organizational goals.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end design and development of enterprise-grade data pipelines and ingestion frameworks.
- Develop optimized data models and schemas for analytics, visualization, and advanced use cases. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into visual and analytical solutions.
- Implement best practices for version control, CI/CD, and code modularity for data workflows.
- Mentor and review work of data engineers to ensure quality, scalability, and alignment with architecture standards.
- Optimize and automate data integration processes to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
Technical Skills:
- 10–12 years of experience in data engineering, including 3–5 years in senior or lead roles
- Expert in SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, ETL/ELT design.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
- Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Strong skills in data warehouse/Lakehouse design and optimization.
- Deep understanding of data governance, security, and lineage.
- CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, DBT, Kubernetes).
