Data Governance Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Governance, Quality, and Privacy Specialist to join our dynamic team in Majid al Futtaim Properties.

Within this role you will be responsible for supporting and implementing all aspects of the data protection framework, advising on privacy matters surrounding data protection and data management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance

·      Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures. These should be in line with the standards in the countries we operate in.

·      Offer expertise and recommendations on refining data management processes.

·      Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership and stewardship roles. A candidate should be able to articulate data concepts and liaise with the business.

·      Develop and maintain data quality rules and business glossary for data elements

·      Conduct regular data quality assessments. Ensure this process is automated and articulate results in a report and visually in dashboards, and identify how to improve data quality if required.

An ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the underlying data and primary focus in ensuring improved data quality, reliability, accessibility, and streamlined operation.

Data Privacy

  • Provide advice and support to implement data privacy framework
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate personal data protection risks
  • Review of internal and external data privacy requirements and conduct data protection impact assessments and conduct risk monitoring and reporting.
  • Take part in due diligence process for business development projects
  • Acting as a regulatory expert, interacting with leaders and different stakeholders.
  • Handle enquiries and issues relating to data subject requests including withdrawal of consent
  • Conduct vendor risk assessments such as Vendor due diligence, Transfer Impact Assessment and contract reviews. Design and improve MAF Privacy Operational Tools such as Cookies, DSR, Assessment Automation, Consent Management, Incident Management and Data Mapping.

Support

·      Work closely with IT, legal, comliance, risk management, corporate and business units to ensure data governance and privacy requirements are met. Conduct workshops across the operating company.

·      Provide training and support to staff on data governance, quality, and privacy best practices.

·      Identify and mitigate data-related risks. Work together with the IT team in the Corporate Risk function.

·      Develop and maintain data breach response plans. Work closely with Majid al Futtaim Holding to ensure that these are streamlined along the organisation.

·      Monitor and report on data governance and privacy compliance.

Skills

  • Have excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative skills; high ethical standards with demonstrated integrity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Have a solution-oriented mind-set and passion to improve the management of data privacy-related risks.
  • Have experience with Data governance and management framework implementations.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience dealing with GDPR or similar implementing processes in support of GDPR compliance
  • Knowledge of UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt data privacy and protection laws are a big plus.

·      Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with privacy management software/s like BigID, SecurtiAI or OneTrust

·      Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with data catalog, governance and management software/s like Collibra, Informatica or Alation

·      Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Risk Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or CDMP are a plus
  • Working knowledge or familiarity of Third-Party Risk Management, Key Control frameworks, policy and guidelines as well as internal processes such as Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), Data Privacy & Service Level Agreements and Intragroup Agreements.
  • Working knowledge or familiarity of Data catalog, defining Critical data elements, maintain data quality standards and metrics.
  • Contractual understanding of DPAs, SCCs, DSAs, MSAs
